Jože Martin Rožanec
Jožef Stefan Institute, Slovenia
Jože Rožanec received his Ph.D. from the Jožef Stefan International Postgraduate School and performed post-doctoral research at the University of Twente. He is a researcher at the Jožef Stefan Institute. His principal research interests relate to machine learning (time series, graphs, causality, and applications), with a special interest in scalable and distributed systems. He has served as a committee member in multiple international conferences (e.g., ESWC, ISWC, ECAI, EuroPar). He is an ACM and IEEE member and a member of the ACM Europe Technology Policy Committee.
Tiziano De Matteis
Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam, The Netherlands
Tiziano De Matteis received his Ph.D. from the University of Pisa. He was a postdoctoral researcher at ETH Zurich and is currently an Assistant Professor (tenured) at the Computer Science Department of Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam. His principal research interests are in Parallel and Distributed Computing, with a focus on systems and programming models for spatial and reconfigurable computing for HPC, post-Moore architectures, and sustainability in modern computing systems. He has served as a committee member in multiple international conferences (e.g., SC, OSDI, HPDC, CCGrid, IPDPS), co-chaired a track at Euro-Par 2018, and co-organized HotCloudPerf 2023 and GraphSys 2025.
Ana-Lucia Varbanescu
University of Twente, The Netherlands
Ana Lucia Varbanescu holds BSc and MSc degrees from Politehnica University of Bucharest and a Ph.D. from Delft University of Technology. She was a MacGillavry fellow at the University of Amsterdam, where she was tenured as associate professor in 2018. Since 2022 she is a professor at the University of Twente, where she chairs the CAES group. She has been a visiting researcher at IBM TJ Watson, BSC, NVIDIA, and Imperial College London. She was co-PI for the GraphMassivizer EU project, co-organizer of the Dagstuhl seminar on Holistic Graph Processing and of the Lorentz Center workshop on Sustainable Computing. Her research focuses on HPC and AI systems, with emphasis on performance and energy efficiency modelling and, more recently, zero-waste computing and systems co-design.
